We Are Almost There!

As of September 4, only $91,000 of the $1.325 million goal remains to be raised with nearly $200,000 in pledges and donation coming in over the last month! As we get so close to reaching our goal, we are pleased to announce that thanks to the generosity of two anonymous donors, all donations up to a total of $30,000 will be matched.

In a recent statement to the library community, Terri White, Chair of the Trustees adds, “Everyone involved with the project is hopeful that all of the funds will be raised in time to allow site work to begin before winter.”

Million Dollar Penny Party

Thanks to the many people who dropped off their pennies and other coins to celebrate a million dollars raised, we collected $848.05 towards the NEW Abbott Library. Thank you for your support!

These kids did their part for a NEW Abbott Library, have you?

Earnest readers spent several hours reading in the library on Saturday, May 18th at the first-ever Lock-in Read-a-thon. Dressed in comfy pajamas and soft stuffies in tow, kids read to themselves and outloud to each other. Their pledges and donations brought in over $870.00! All of this money will go towards the NEW Abbott Library. Director Mary Danko was thrilled with the event, “I was so impressed with their dedication to and focus on reading! We plan to do this again next year, probably in March so stay tuned!”
